Dr. John Lester Tabian is a biology educator, educational researcher, and academic professional whose work advances science education, educational management, biodiversity research, food science, and intellectual property awareness. Through his dedication to teaching, research, and innovation, he has contributed to the development of evidence-based educational practices and scientific knowledge while promoting research productivity in higher education.

Dr. Tabian earned his Bachelor of Secondary Education, graduating cum laude and as a Regional Board Topnotcher, from Cagayan State University–Sanchez Mira Campus. He later completed his Master of Science in Teaching major in Biology at the same institution and earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management. His multidisciplinary academic preparation has enabled him to integrate educational leadership with scientific research and instructional innovation.

Currently serving as a College Instructor at Cagayan State University–Sanchez Mira Campus, Dr. Tabian teaches biology and education courses while mentoring undergraduate researchers and supporting institutional research initiatives. His published works examine diverse topics, including the physicochemical characteristics of coconut-based dairy alternatives, biodiversity and floristic diversity in Northwestern Cagayan, historical-biographical studies of migratory bird species, and teachers' awareness and compliance with intellectual property rights. Beyond journal publications, Dr. Tabian has contributed to technological innovation through the development of several registered utility models involving coconut-based food products, including coconut yoghurt, coconut-enhanced food bars, and coconut embryo jam. These innovations highlight his commitment to translating scientific research into practical applications that promote food sustainability and value-added agricultural products.

Dr. Tabian actively supports research and professional development through participation in national research training programs and by serving as a resource speaker on outcomes-based education, flexible learning, student-centered instruction, and teacher capability development.
