Cyril L. Tura, MSc. RAgr. is a Filipino agriculturist, educator, researcher, and extension specialist with expertise in agricultural entomology, crop protection, sustainable agriculture, and biological pest management. He currently serves as Instructor I at Davao Oriental State University–San Isidro Campus, where he teaches agriculture courses, mentors students, and actively participates in research and extension initiatives. He also serves as a National Lecturer at the Carl Balita Review Center, providing review and professional development programs for aspiring agriculturists. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a farm technician and consultant, gaining practical experience in agricultural production and farm management.

Mr. Tura earned his Master of Science in Agriculture, major in Crop Protection, from the University of Southeastern Philippines–Tagum Campus and completed his Bachelor in Agricultural Technology at Davao Oriental State University. His academic preparation has provided him with a strong foundation in crop science, agricultural entomology, integrated pest management, and sustainable farming systems, enabling him to bridge scientific research with practical agricultural applications.

As an active researcher, Mr. Tura has published several peer-reviewed studies in international journals, particularly in the fields of agricultural entomology and pest management. His scholarly works focus on the biology, ecology, and management of the fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), including life history studies, sustainable pest management strategies, and biological control approaches. His publications in journals of the Entomological Society of India have contributed to a better understanding of invasive agricultural pests and their implications for crop production and food security.

Beyond scholarly publication, Mr. Tura actively leads and participates in research and extension projects that promote sustainable agricultural development. He serves as Project Leader of the SHINE WASON – Pagpalambo sa Ekonomiya Pinaagi sa Agrikultura (PEPA) extension initiative and is a project staff member of the Coconut Hybrid in the Locality for Improved Productivity (COCO-HULIP) project. He has also presented his research in local and international scientific conferences and contributes to scholarly publishing as a peer reviewer for the Davao Research Journal.

Committed to advancing agricultural science, Mr. Tura continuously enhances his expertise through specialized training in crop protection, biological control, organic agriculture, climate change adaptation, agricultural entrepreneurship, and research development. He is an active member of the Philippine Association for Agriculturists, the Entomological Society of India, and the National Research Council of the Philippines. Through his dedication to teaching, research, extension, and scientific innovation, he continues to contribute to sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and agricultural education in the Philippines.
